Playing with Photoshop...

...and my new reflectors! I am having so much fun learning about this!!! My kids even want cameras for Christmas. Yeah, I don't know, we'll see... but I think it is so adorable that they are excited about picture taking. Just makes my heart happy. :)

More Black & White

I was out a few days ago taking some pics of a good friend of mine, when I happened to snap this picture. He's actually not who I was supposed to be taking pictures of, but I couldn't resist. He's my son, and I happen to think he's one of the most adorable little guys on the planet! :) So, I had to share. I'll be posting pics of the photoshoot another day... I'm actually editing those ones now. 

I really loved the location we were at, so green and alive, even though it's November and leaves are on the ground, but black & white just made this photo POP for me... It took away the distracting colors & varying hues of green & yellow, so you can instead focus on the subject. That's how it seems to me, anyway. 

I love natural light...

Decided to take my ironing board, draped a blanket over it, positioned it in front of a window and tried to see what shots I could get... my two youngest were great sports. They were awfully patient with me... it was a lot of fun, and I got some cute pictures from it. Still playing with editing, so some of the pics are a slightly different color tone than others. Just playing with it to see which one I liked best. Anyway, enjoy!

I wish weather like this would stay... forever.

It was a beautiful fall day, with no rain in sight... so what did I do? Make my boys do a photoshoot with me, of course. They were good sports about it, thankfully. There were only a few moments when their patience was at an end... 

Ah, sweet...

I love sleeping pictures... especially when I'm looking at one of my own sweet children. It's actually pretty late as I am writing this... hopefully it will inspire me to sleep as well! 

I Heart Faces

So, I decided that I would start contributing to I Heart Faces, a website for photographers of all stages. Here's my first contribution... it's Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and so the challenge is to take a picture with pink. Here's my photo of my beautiful daughter all in pink!

Enjoying Fall..

I've been taking to exploring as much as possibly while the nice fall weather lasts. I know all too well how quickly winter creeps up on you and suddenly it's too cold to do anything... so off I went to explore with my kids. Found a beautiful park that I had never been to before... and just relaxed.

Fun with black & white...

My new obsession... playing with black & white. I love it... Don't get me wrong, I LOVE color, but lately, all I've wanted to do is convert color to black & white. Here are a few photos that I messed with of myself. It was fun. The only problem I ran into, however, was that I had my 50mm lens on, so I couldn't zoom it out and my arm could hold the camera away only so far... :) So, they are some pretty close, close ups...
